Global Chinese Embassies and Consulates
Embassy work visa info for US which serve as a general guide for most countries.
Requirements:
Supposedly private ESL language schools allow foreign English native speakers to work for them without holding the usual minimum education requirement of a BA. Though this may change in the near the future it is advisable to have at least a BA, not just to be on the safe side but to open doors to other and more pristine jobs, such as University jobs which will require the higher education. Some experience is looked good upon but not needed, again, depending on what joy type you are seeking. The basic requirements are that you are a native English speaker from a nation in which English is the spoken and written first language.
Types of Visas:
Z Visa (Employment/Work Visa)
F Visa (Business) – Maybe used by private businesses hiring ESL teachers
L Visa (Tourist) – Maybe used for entry into China while Z Visa processed
D Visa (Permanent Residency)
Visa Information: It is usual to attain the Z Work Visa while in your home country
If you enter China on a tourist visa and hope to be granted the Z Work Visa; make sure you have the necessary qualifications and/or documentation.
Go over and check the school contract received and make sure is coincides with the Z visa regulations.
Make sure to have adequate time remaining on your passport (typically 6 months, we recommend at least having 12+).
Along with obtaining a visa, an entry permit is needed. The option is given to purchase a single entry permit or a multiple entry permit. It is best to consult with your school/recruiter concerning this.
Applicants with AIDS, contagious tuberculosis, venereal diseases, or other such infectious diseases; along with those who suffer from a mental disorder, will not be granted a Chinese visa.
