If ya don't need Java on your Mac, don't bother installing it, it's not going to add anything to your experience in Yosemite. The app that is looking for Java 6 needs to be updated to look for and work with Java 8; nothing I can do here but wait for updates. Last effort was fix permissions. A few googles later: If you see this, it is likely one of your apps is requiring Java 6. Much appreciated. Download and install Java for OS X 2014-001 from Apple website.
