KOREA BUDDHIST TEMPLES
After a hike or arrival by bus or car, you may enjoy some of
the most spectacular and tranquil settings in Korea, the Buddhist
Temples. You will find an array of large or small temples, buildings,
guests, tourists, and both men and women monks, depending on which
temple you visit. You make take your shoes off and enter some of
main buildings. I have on occasion bowed three times to the floor
in front a statue of Buddha, a very common form of worship. The
temple experience can remind one of the purity of people, the simple
life back to nature so to speak. Monks living in temples on
mountains usually have rigours prayer and mediation exercises
daily, up before dawn and more. They give up marriage and other
aspect of life. Here is a list of
Korean Buddhist Temples from Wikipedia.
